That is one of the coolest things I have seen, but what is a theremin? It looks like he is playing the air.

Interesting you should post this just now -- I saw a theremin just yesterday, on display at the Museum of Science and Inudstry in Chicago. It was set up to be played by visitors, but was not working, a pity, as I would very much have liked to have heard it. (I only first heard of it the last time you posted about it.)

Only had a go on a theremin once. It started off as a great idea to make a sinister folk song sound completely creepy.

Unfortunately my ability to control the pitch left much to be desired and it ended up sounding like a swarm of bees in a plastic tub.
