Phemeranthus brevicaule
Phemeranthus (or Talinum, or Eutmon, or ...) is a small group of small hardy succulents in the purslane family, Portulacaceae. The only difficult part in growing them is finding the seed. P. brevicaule is a very small plant above the ground; my second-year plant is maybe two inches tall and three inches across. Under the ground it has a surprisingly large tuber.
I'm not terribly happy with this picture, but there was quite a bit of discussion on hardycacti_etc about Phemeranthus recently, so I'm posting it anyway.
